Introducing Zanteia: A Sustainable and Ethical Fashion Platform

We recently had the pleasure of interviewing the founder of Zanteia, Anastasia Grevstad, a platform that offers a wide range of trendy clothing, free from the adverse environmental and societal impacts of fast fashion.

Tell us more about the story behind Zanteia, how did it all start?

I came to Hong Kong in December 2021 with the idea of creating a platform for women who believe in sustainable and ethical fashion practices and no longer have to feel guilty for wanting to buy trendy new clothes, to look pretty or sexy, or express themselves through clothing.

However, the idea itself was born when the pandemic hit Europe. I knew that small local brands were experiencing financial issues and wanted to support them by buying clothes from small independent brands that foster sustainable and ethical practices and are transparent.

I realised that it was difficult to find sustainable, ethical, and transparent brands or e-commerce platforms that gathered brands, and at the same time, they were affordable.

What makes Zanteia a #GreenBusiness?

We are an active exponent of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), created to tackle the most important global challenges.

Zanteia aims to play its part in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 12, 13 and 17, relating to Responsible Consumption & Production, Action Against Climate Change and Strong Global Partnerships.

About Zanteia

Zanteia is where people can find brands dedicated to changing the fashion industry. They foster sustainable and ethical practices and they are honest with customers. We want to create trust between these brands and customers, providing a wide range of brands with various styles and designers.

Zanteia's goal is to be the home of a new generation of brands and provide fashion-forward women with a credible alternative to fast fashion and its many drawbacks.

Why transparency is crucial for Zanteia

During my research before creating Zanteia, I realised that I either had to pay a fortune for sustainably and ethically produced garments or buy from brands that use the words "Sustainable or Ethical" without providing any facts or explanations.

That is how I became very familiar with "greenwashing". I was shocked at how much the word sustainability was "abused" for marketing purposes. There is so much false or misleading information that fools consumers.

Therefore, transparency part plays a crucial role in Zanteia. Each brand has to fill in a Six-point transparency report to show their dedication and honesty about sustainable and ethical production.
